Two Reasons Why You Don't Achieve Your Goals
Goals are fundamental to our progression. The clearer and more direct your goals are, the more success you will have. Everyone has a personal goal; however, many fail because they lack structure.
Reason 1: SMART Goals
While widey used in business, having a Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-bound (SMART) goal is a must. Without these five elements, your goals are just wishes.
Specific goals clearly define what you want to achieve. Measurable goals establish concrete criteria for tracking your progress. Attainable goals ensure you have a realistic action plan to reach them. Realistic goals help you understand if the objective is truly possible given your resources.Time-bound goals give you a clear deadline for when you will achieve them. When you set goals, always evalaute if these elements are met to be successful
Reason 2: Set and Forget
Our brains are designed to store complex amounts of information and memories. However, no matter how powerful our minds are or how talented we are at remembering things, there will always be situations where we fail to recall information.
Keeping your goals recorded only in your mind will inevitably lead to a situation where you cannot perfectly remember them. Because of this, whenever you set a goal, you should always write it down and review it periodically. Utilizing this method is like having a backup file stored on a secure server. Therefore, always write your goals down and review them from time to time.
In goal setting, the methods you use and the attitude you display will ultimately determine your success. Always remember that the most vital principles of goal setting are establishing SMART goals and writing them down to review periodically.
